The pyrolysis kinetics of cellulosic coated printing and writing paper
, a principal component of municipal solid waste (MSW) in Taiwan, were
investigated by thermogravimetric analysis in nitrogen over the tempe
rature range 450-900 K at heating rates of 1, 2 and 5 K min The t.g.a.
curves indicated two principal reactions, distinguished by significan
t and distinct mass changes over the experimental range. The pyrolysis
of coated paper could be adequately described by a two-reaction model
. The corresponding activation energies, pre-exponential factors and r
eaction orders were determined. The experimental results were satisfac
