Abstract
Already known complexes between tetracyanoethylene (TCNE) and aromatic hydrocarbons have been reinvestigated and new complexes synthesised. The effect of the substituents on the donor properties of the hydrocar bons has been studied. For complexes of dodecahydrotriphenylene and tr iphenylene, solvent effects have also been studied.
