Abstract
The problem of intense anisotropic explosions is generalized to the ca se of stratified gas initially at rest. The explosion is not necessari ly instantaneous. To preserve the self-similarity, the stratification is considered as a power law of the distance to the explosion center I t is shown that the main properties holding for an initially homogeneo us gas still hold here.
