Abstract
The addition of Mg(CH2Ph)(2)(thf)(2) to a thf solution of Zn(CH2Ph)(2) yields the zincate complex Mg(thf)(6)[Zn(CH2Ph)(3)](2) (1), which has been characterized by X-ray crystallography and NMR. Complex 1 is cle aved by tmeda into a 1:2 mixture of Mg(CH2Ph)(2)(tmeda) and Zn(CH2Ph)( 2)(tmeda). (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
