Abstract
Hexacyanotriquinarenemethane dianion is obtained as stable, highly tet erapolar substance in one step by the reaction of 4-lithiophenyldicyan omethyllithium with ethyl chloroformate. The acidity of its conjugate acid was determined to be pK(a)1 = ca. 2.5 and pK(a)2 = 3.0.
