We extend previous theoretical results of the literature to compute th
e electronic Raman spectra in the case of d + s wave superconductivity
. We thus can reasonably describe the Raman spectra observed both in o
rthorhombic YBCO(123) and tetragonal Hg(1212). In particular, there se
ems to be a significant s-wave component in the latter compound. This
may imply a breakdown of tetragonality in the superconducting phase of
some superconductors of which crystal symmetry is believed to be tetr
agonal.
