The treatment of several branched methylchlorooligosilanes (Si-4, Si-5
) with diethylamine leads to a partial or complete substitution of the
chloro substituents for diethylamino groups under formation of the fi
rst known (diethylamino)-methylchlorooligosilanes containing more than
two Si atoms. The condensation of (Et2N)(2)MeSi-SiMeCl(NEt2) (1d) wit
h Li in THF yields the linear tetrasilane (Et2N)(2)MeSi-SiMe(NEt2)-SiM
e(NEt2)-SiMe(Et2N)(2) (2a). The NMR investigations provided informatio
n of the general shift ranges of several Si units in (diethylamino)-me
thylchlorooligosilane systems as well as the number of stereoisomers o
f the prepared products.
