Abstract
A new species of Picramnia (Picramniaceae) is described, illustrated. and compared to related Amazonian species. The new species. Picramnia coccinea, is known only from three localities in three adjacent munici palities near Ilheus. Babia. and constitutes another example of endemi sm in the southern Bahian flora.
