We study the influence of several t-channel contributions in the Julic
h meson exchange model for pi pi and pi eta scattering. Furthermore we
employ the mass difference between charged and neutral pions and kaon
s by reformulating the model in a basis of mass eigenstates. A non-van
ishing cross section for pi(+)pi(-) --> pi(0) eta indicates a mixing o
f a(0)(980) and f(0)(980).
