E. Sanchez et al., ANALYSIS OF SYNCHRONIZATION OF CHAOTIC SYSTEMS BY NOISE - AN EXPERIMENTAL-STUDY, Physical review. E, Statistical physics, plasmas, fluids, and related interdisciplinary topics, 56(4), 1997, pp. 4068-4071
The behavior of uncoupled chaotic systems under the influence of exter
nal noise has been the subject of recent work. Some of these studies c
laim that chaotic systems driven by the same noise do synchronize, whi
le other studies contradict this conclusion. In this work we have unde
rtaken an experimental study of the effect of noise on identically dri
ven analog circuits. The main conclusion is that synchronization is in
duced by a nonzero mean of the signal and not by its stochastic charac
ter.
