We consider transverse effects in a planar resonator with a quadratica
lly nonlinear medium where the incident field is at the fundamental fr
equency. The resonator is assumed to be resonant for both the fundamen
tal and second harmonics. Different scenarios of destabilization of th
e plane-wave solutions are investigated in dependence on the driving f
ield and the detunings from the resonances. Numerical simulations demo
nstrate the existence of dynamical and stationary patterns.
