Abstract
We study analytically the Tang, Statz and deMars rate equations descri bing a solid-state Fabry-Perot laser, When the modes have equal gains, there is a critical number of lasing modes, above which the low-frequ ency relaxation oscillations responsible for antiphase dynamics disapp ear. These results are generalized to include unequal modal gains resu lting from a Lorentzian gain profile. (C) 1997 Published by Elsevier S cience B.V.
