Vv. Kirsanov et An. Balashov, STABLE ATOMIC DISPLACEMENTS AND THEIR ENERGY THRESHOLDS IN IRRADIATEDVANADIUM ALLOYS, Russian metallurgy. Metally, (3), 1997, pp. 87-93
An analysis of atomic displacements in V - Cr and V - Mo alloys is mad
e by means of computer simulation. In particular, the threshold displa
cement energies were determined for various kinds of atoms along vario
us crystallographic directions. In alloys, the threshold displacement
energy increases (compared to one-component materials) for nearly all
crystallographic directions due to the appearance of inhomogeneity in
the chains of substituting collisions. Inhomogeneities in these chains
play a dominant role in the change of the threshold displacement ener
gy if the concentration of substitutional atoms exceeds 5%.
