Abstract
A novel protection method for phenols carrying strongly electron-withd rawing substituents which involves reaction of 1-adamantyl fluoroforma te with fluorophenols, nitrophenols and fluoronitrophenols has been de veloped: fifteen new compounds have been synthesised by this route.
