We propose a new method to deal with the open boundary conditions prob
lem in a barotropic linearized Shallow-Water model. It uses both the s
plitting technique and the newtonian relaxation method. We present the
oretical solutions and illustrate with numerical examples the efficien
cy of the proposed method: outgoing waves are evacuated without distur
bing the flow in the physical domain.
