Superconducting phases of the extended Hubbard model has been investig
ated in the weak-coupling limit at different temperatures and doping l
evels in the presence of on-site, nearest-neighbour and next-nearest-n
eighbour couplings. The main result is the occurrence of stable pairin
g states of different symmetries depending on the tunable parameters o
f the model, attractive nearest-neighbour couplings give rise to a sta
ble superconducting state having d(x2-y2) symmetry, while attractive n
ext-nearest-neighbour interactions favour pairing states of d(xy) symm
etry.
