The construction and general performance characteristics of two tamoxi
fen-selective membrane electrodes, based on iron-pair complexes with d
ipicrylamine (1) and lauryl sulphate (2), are described. Both electrod
es show near Nernstian response over the range 10(-2)-10(-5) mol/l wit
h the detection limits 1.5.10(-8) mol/l (1), and 2.7.10(-8) mol/l (2),
respectively. The electrodes proved useful in the determination of ta
moxifen citrate raw material and its tablet formulations.
