STATIC RESPONSE OF INFILLED FRAMES USING QUASI-STATIC EXPERIMENTATION

This paper treats an experimental investigation of gravity-load design ed steel frames, i.e., steel frames with semirigid connections, infill ed with unreinforced masonry walls and subjected to slowly applied cyc lic lateral loads. Various geometrical configurations of the frame and the infill walls and different material types of the masonry walls ar e considered. Based on the results, a hysteresis model for infilled fr ames is formulated and discussed. All parameters in the model have phy sical meaning and are calibrated with experimental data.
