Abstract
Oxidation either with hypohalites in aqueous solution or by solid-gas reaction under oxygen flow of the delafossite-type compounds CuMO2 (M= Sc, Ga, Y, La, Nd, La0.5Y0.5) is described. Materials obtained at room temperature are compared to those prepared at higher temperatures. Pa rticular attention is paid ro the correlation of the features of the r esulting CuMO2+delta phase with the size of the M element.
