H. Petri et G. Erdtmann, NAA WITH GAMMA-LINE RELATED (K(O)) AND ISOTOPE RELATED (K(I)) ANALYTICAL FACTORS, Journal of radioanalytical and nuclear chemistry, 179(1), 1994, pp. 113-118
The k(o)-standardization method is based on analytical constants, whic
h are gamma-line related and the results we calculated from the peak a
reas of the gamma-ray spectrum. Consequently, prerequisites of this me
thod are the correct identification of the gamma-lines and the avoidan
ce of unresolved peak interferences. Because these problems are alread
y solved with nuclide identification programs, a new variant of the k(
o)-method we developed, using the activities of the nuclides instead o
f the peak areas. We introduced isotope related factors, k(i), calcula
ted from k(o)-factors. The procedure is described and results are comp
ared with those obtained by the gamma-line based method.
