Abstract
Nitromethane reacts readily and selectively with a variety of electrop hilic alkenes activated by cyano, ester or amide group to give the cor responding Michael monoadduct within a few minutes, in good yields ove r alumina without solvent and under focused microwaves. (C) 1997 Elsev ier Science Ltd.
