Abstract
This paper presents a novel technique for affine invariant recognition of single, near planar object shapes from broken boundaries. In this approach, the matching scores between pairs of object contours are com puted based on a combination of a genetic algorithm and a distance tra nsform. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
