Abstract
This paper describes the implementation of a parallel solver into the commercial finite element software SAMCEF. The method implemented comb ines a direct solution on subdomains with an iterative solution of the dual problem on the global interface (finite element tearing and inte rconnecting [FETI] method). The presentation is limited here to its ap plication in the context of linear statics and modal analysis of struc tures. The performance of the method is demonstrated through represent ative examples.
