D. Fritzson et al., ROLLING BEARING SIMULATION ON MIMD COMPUTERS, The international journal of supercomputer applications and high performance computing, 11(4), 1997, pp. 299-313
Rolling bearing simulations are very computationally intensive. Serial
simulations may take weeks to execute, and there is a need to use the
potential of parallel computing. The specific structure of the rollin
g bearing problem is used to develop suitable scheduling strategies. T
he authors discuss the system of stiff ordinary differential equations
arising from a bearing model and show how to numerically solve these
ordinary differential equations on parallel computers. Benchmarking re
sults are presented for two test cases on three platforms.
