The low-temperature nesting instability in the quasi-two-dimensional o
rganic conductor, alpha-(BEDT-TTF)(2)RbHg(SCN)(4), has been investigat
ed by C-13 NMR. Below 12 K, drastic decreases in the Knight shift and
1/(T1T) were observed with neither splitting nor broadening in the NMR
spectra. The 1/(T1T) shows no enhancement around the nesting instabil
ity, unlike the conventional spin-density-wave (SDW) transition. The p
resent C-13 NMR data are suggestive of nonmagnetic transition but allo
w only an unusual case of mobile state in the SDW scenario.
