Abstract
Trimethylsilyl ether of tertiary alcohol can be cleaved by using tetra -n-butylammonium fluoride(TBAF), acidic hydrolysis, basic alcoholysis and BF3-Et2O. The results show that BF3-Et2O is a highly selective met hod, which has not been reported so far.
