The kinetics of formation reaction of Cd(I) with meso-tetra-meta-tolue
ne-porphyrin [H2T(m-CH3)PP] in acetone has been studied by means of st
opped-flow method. The proper reaction mechanism was proposed, The eff
ects of temperature on the reaction rate were investigated. It was fou
nd that k(obs) was reduced with the increase of the ionic strength, th
at is, the negative kinetic salt effect was observed. According to Deb
ye-Huckel theory and the experimental results a good linear relationsh
ip between rate constant and ionic strength was obtained.
