The correlation between such parameters as attachment specificity, the
level of child's self-image development, mother's self-image, mother'
s evaluation of her attachment to the child and her subjective evaluat
ion of child's attachment to her is shown. It is demonstrated that chi
ld's high level of self-image development corresponds to more pronounc
es independence. The mothers of such children are characterised by hig
h level of self-image, strong attachment to a child which they judge t
o be stronger than child's attachment to mother. On the contrary, chil
dren with low level of self-image demonstrate affective, non-stable at
tachment to mother, and their mothers are characterised by lower self-
evaluation and judge their attachment to a child to be weaker that chi
ld's attachment to them.
