Fj. Carrion, THE INFLUENCE OF THE TEMPERATURE ON THE SORPTION OF MICROEMULSIONATEDCATIONIC SOFTENERS ON COTTON, Journal of the Society of Dyers and Colourists, 110(7-8), 1994, pp. 234-237
Cationic softeners are surfactants which, when added to the last rinsi
ng during the washing of textile materials, impart a series of desirab
le properties, whose intensity depends on the sorption process. This s
orption becomes more effective if the product is used in microemulsion
form, as its penetration is facilitated in the textile substrate. The
sorption kinetics of various cationic softeners (difatty alkylammoniu
m and amidoimidozoline compounds) on cotton towel fabric have been stu
died as a function of water application temperature. The chemical stru
cture of the softener is also considered.
