Abstract
A series of 2-amino substituted benzoxazinones were prepared that pote ntly inhibit human cytomegalovirus protease in vitro. Selected compoun ds demonstrate antiviral activity in cell culture, selectivity relativ e to chymotrypsin and elastase and stability with respect to hydrolysi s in human plasma.
