K. Sato et al., CATALYTIC PERFORMANCE OF SILVER ION-EXCHANGED SAPONITE FOR THE SELECTIVE REDUCTION OF NITROGEN MONOXIDE IN THE PRESENCE OF EXCESS OXYGEN, Applied catalysis. B, Environmental, 13(1), 1997, pp. 27-33
The catalytic activity of ion-exchanged saponites for NO reduction wit
h hydrocarbons in the presence of oxygen was investigated. Silver ion-
exchanged saponite (Ag-saponite) showed excellent catalytic activity f
or NO reduction with propene. The highest activity was obtained for Ag
-saponite with a silver loading of 7-8 wt%, on which the addition of w
ater vapor to the feed gas promoted NO reduction at temperatures below
400 degrees C. 2-Propanol and acetone served as more efficient reduci
ng agents in the presence of water vapor.
