J. Muhling et al., THE USE OF THE DEEPITHELIALIZED SCAPULAR FLAP FOR SOFT-TISSUE AUGMENTATION - A CASE-REPORT, Journal of cranio-maxillo-facial surgery, 22(4), 1994, pp. 200-204
For the augmentation of maxillo-facial soft tissue deficiencies, micro
surgical 'pure' fat transplants have proven effective. In this paper,
we present the 'de-epithelialized' scapular flap and discuss its signi
ficance in comparison with other microvascular fat transfers. Consiste
ncy of transplant vessels and minimal dependence of volume on the over
all nutritional condition are its specific advantages. The transplant
can be securely fixed at the retained corium.
