Abstract
For the augmentation of maxillo-facial soft tissue deficiencies, micro surgical 'pure' fat transplants have proven effective. In this paper, we present the 'de-epithelialized' scapular flap and discuss its signi ficance in comparison with other microvascular fat transfers. Consiste ncy of transplant vessels and minimal dependence of volume on the over all nutritional condition are its specific advantages. The transplant can be securely fixed at the retained corium.
