Accurate measurements of the binding energy spectrum and momentum dist
ribution of argon are performed using the high resolution (Delta E = 1
.4 eV, Delta p = 0.1 a.u.) energy multichannel (e, 2e) spectrometer (t
heta(1) = theta(2) = 45 degrees, phi = 0 degrees - +/- 30 degrees) bui
lt recently in our laboratory. Detailed satellite structure of argon h
as been observed. Good agreement can be found between the experimental
data and the theoretical calculations performed using Hartree-Fock me
thod with the different basis sets and configuration interaction metho
d.
