Abstract
The reaction of the N-1,N-2-diarylacetamidines 1a-d with 2,3-dicyano-1 ,4-naphthoquinone (2) led to the formation of benzo[f]isoquinoline der ivatives 6a-d; the reaction mechanism is discussed.
