Einstein's field equations for rigidly rotating stationary Bianchi typ
e I models are investigated, focusing on the cylindrically symmetric c
ases. The equations are rewritten as a first-order system of autonomou
s ordinary differential equations arid dimensionless variables are int
roduced such that the reduced phase space is compact. The system is th
en studied qualitatively using the theory of dynamical systems. The cy
lindrically symmetric submanifold is studied in detail.
