Abstract
In Gallium detectors for solar neutrinos, the capture rate due to Gamo w-Teller transitions to excited states of Ge-71 beyond the neutron emi ssion threshold is usually neglected. We make a model calculation to e stimate its effect and find that this yields an additional contributio n which may be as much as 0.4 SNU, even larger than that from the Isob aric Analog State in Ge-71 reached by Fermi transitions, which is norm ally included in the standard predictions.
