Abstract
We report the results of laser-microwave double resonance spectroscopy
of laser cooled Be-9(+) ions trapped in a linear rf trap. The microwa
ve transition frequency between the sublevels of the Be-9(+) ground st
ate hyperfine structure in a weak magnetic field was measured with a p
recision of 5 x 10(-6). This experiment has been carried out as a firs
t step of our project to study the hyperfine anomaly of unstable nucle
ar ions at INS.
