Lc. Tribedi et al., DOUBLE DIFFERENTIAL CROSS-SECTIONS FOR SOFT ELECTRON-EMISSION IN IONIZATION OF HYDROGEN BY BARE CARBON-IONS, Physica scripta. T, T73, 1997, pp. 233-234
The double differential cross sections (DDCS) for low energy electron
emission can provide stringent tests of the theoretical models for ion
ization in ion-atom collisions. We have measured the DDCS (d(2) sigma/
d Omega d epsilon) of soft electron emission in the ionization of H-2
bombarded by bare Carbon ions of energy 1.84 and 2.5 MeV/u. The measur
ements have been carried out for different emission angles (theta) and
for electron energies (epsilon) between 0.1 and 300eV. The angular di
stributions of the DDCS for electrons with fixed energies were found t
o peak around 70-75 degrees. The data have been compared with CDW-EIS
and FBA calculations.
