A. Kojlo, INDIRECT POTENTIOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF CHLORPROMAZINE WITH AN OXIDATIVE COLUMN IN A FLOW-INJECTION SYSTEM, Analytical letters, 30(13), 1997, pp. 2353-2363
A flow-injection method is proposed for the determination of chlorprom
azine and other N-substituted phenothiazines. The procedure is based o
n the oxidation of analyte with lead dioxide entrapped into polymeric
material in a packed-bed reactor. The oxidation of the drug yields sol
uble Pb2+, which is monitored by means of the lead ion selective elect
rode in the wall-jet configuration. The calibration graph is linear ov
er the range of 0.01 - 2 mu g ml(-1) of chlorpromazine with relative s
tandard deviation of 1.4% and sample throughput 20 h(-1). The develope
d method was applied to the determination of chlorpromazine in pharmac
eutical preparations.
