Abstract
In this article will be presented and discussed Theodor Geiger's consi deration about university education of teachers and will be put in the general discussion about it. Therefore it will be presented backgroun d and initial thesis. Then Geiger's formal and material reflections ab out the social processes of instruction at school will be developed an d will be placed in relation to important results of contemporary yout h research. Finally the main consequences of university education of t eachers will be summarized in five theses.
