Ny. Yanysheva et al., MODIFICATION OF BENZO(A)PYRENE-INDUCED BL ASTOMOGENESIS IN RATS BY FORMALDEHYDE, Eksperimental'naa onkologia, 19(3), 1997, pp. 179-184
This article presents data on carcinogenesis study following combined
administration of the various benzo(a)pyrene (BP) doses (0.02-5.0 mg)
and formaldehyde gases (FA) concentrations (0.0030.3mg/ m(3)) into res
piratory organs of white rats. A modifying influence of formaldehyde o
n the carcinogenesis and its dependance on the dose has been found. Si
multaneous exposure to BP at the dose of 5.0 mg with FA at the concent
ration of 0.3 mg/m(3) produces maximal carcinogenic effect reflected i
n the incidence, degree of malignancy, metastasizing activity, primari
ly multiple damages of various organs and localization spectre. Simult
aneous exposure to BP and FA at the levels of their maximal permissibl
e concentration (MPC) in the atmospheric air had no effect on spontane
ous carcinogenesis.
