Influence of inoculated Guerin's carcinoma substrains with different s
ensitivity to cisplatinum on the state of the thiol system and activit
y of glutathione-dependent enzymes in rat organs was studied. It was s
hown that the processes of tumour formation in experimental animals pr
ovoked by the carcinoma substrains having different sensitivity to cis
platinum, led to the changes of different direction in the glutathione
system. Growth of sensitive Guerin's carcinoma strain in the animals
was accompanied by the increase in disulphide glutathione in tissues a
nd the increase in detoxication enzyme activity (glutathione transfera
se, glutathione peroxidase). Activation of key enzymes connected with
glutathione metabolism, led to the increased utilization of the latter
, this was accompanied with the decrease in tripeptide concentration i
n the tissues of rats. Stable Guerin's carcinoma caused the elevation
of low molecular thiol contents, reduced glutathione in liver tissue a
nd the decrease in liver and spleen enzyme SH-group quantity, the decr
ease in the total detoxifying function of glutathione system, inhibiti
on of the degradation processes of glutathione and its conjugates.
