Abstract
We report a fatal sporadic case of neonatal Citrobacter diversus menin gitis with rapid clinical progression. At autopsy, multiple brain absc esses and abscesses in the spinal cord had complicated purulent mening itis. Septic omphalitis was identified as the most likely portal of en try.
