Abstract
The abundance ratio C/O in the atmospheres of 89 faint carbon stars ar e detected on the basis of spectra obtained on 2.6 m telescope of Byur akan AO. The frequency distribution of C/O in the Perseus galactic arm differs from that in the Orion arm. The conclusion is made that the r eason of the difference may be the heavy element abundance differences in these galactic arms.
