Y. Ni et al., A CUMULATIVE DIFFERENTIAL LIGHT-PULSE DETECTOR USING SOURCE-COUPLED MOS CURRENT SWITCHES, Sensors and actuators. A, Physical, 63(3), 1997, pp. 205-208
In this paper, a simple cumulative differential light-pulse detector i
s presented which uses an original switched-current (SI) memory in ver
y weak inversion mode. This light-pulse detector differentiates the in
put lie;ht synchronously and cumulates the consecutive temporal differ
ences, so a substantial detection gain can be obtained if the detectio
n clock matches that of the optical signal emission. A test chip has s
hown a differential sensitivity of better than 2%. The pixel density o
f the image sensor is 400 pixels mm(-2) with 1.0 mm CMOS single poly t
echnology. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
