ZERO VISCOSITY LIMIT OF THE STOKES EQUATIONS ON A HALF-SPACE

The time-dependent Stokes equations are considered. It is shown that t he solution is the sum of an inviscid solution, a boundary layer solut ion, and a small (in the zero viscosity limit) correction. Bounds on t hese solutions are given, in the appropriate Sobolev spaces, in terms of the norms of the initial and boundary data.
