The dependence of the reactivity of alcohols and their polyoxyethylate
d derivatives with respect to alpha-oxides on the solvability of a med
ium is investigated. The ratio of the ether and oxygen groups, which c
orrelates with the solvability of the reaction medium, is shown to pla
y the crucial role. On the basis of the dependences observed, models m
ay be constructed which are applicable for calculating the polyoxyalky
lation reactors.
