The state of Ni in NiNaY zeolite after its sulfidization with a mixtur
e of H2S + H-2 at 120-500 degrees C was studied by X-ray diffraction.
Amorphous NiS2 is formed at 120 degrees C and localized in the zeolite
pores. As temperature is increased to 500 degrees C, alpha-NiS crysta
llize from the amorphous phase on the surface of zeolite grains. The s
ulfidization of nickel results in a decrease in the zeolite crystallin
ity.
