Abstract
1,3-Diphenyl-1-2,3,4-tetahydro-gamma-carbolines (3a-d) have been synth esized by the Fischer-type thermal indolization of phenylhydrazones (e ither preformed or formed in situ) of the piperidin-4-ones (2a-d) and their structures have been established on the basis of chemical and sp ectral evidences and by comparison with literature data.
