OSTEOMYELITIS PELVIS COMPLICATING UROLOGI CAL PELVIC-SURGERY

Osteomyelitis Pelvis Complicating Urological Pelvic Surgery: Osteomyel itis pelvis is a severe complication of urological pelvis surgery nece ssitating a long hospitalisation and recurrent surgical intervention. Based on a review of the scant literature as well as on a retrospectiv e analysis of 7 patients observed within 10 years (1985 - 1995), 5 of whom had undergone a supravesical urinary diversion (ileal conduit n=4 , ureterocutaneostomy n = 1), the typical aspects of onset, differenti al diagnosis and therapy were evaluated.
